There is no denying.
We are now a parents of a high school student. This is supposed to be a milestone on his life but I wasn't able to hide the disappointments and so was he.
Not that I was blaming Tin-tin for passing but her loss has somewhat impacted us financially. So the initial plan of sending the kids to a private school was delayed. And off he went today to his first day high at Holy Spirit Annex.
The supposed to be fun-filled and exciting day for my son became yet a challenge to him to strive harder so he'll step up next school year.
And the formal classes hasn't been started yet.
As parents or personally for that matter, I have my own share of faults and shortcomings. I just couldn't pinpoint where that somehow contributed to our dreams slowly falling down to the starting point again.
Anyway, we are family and we work as a team. This should not only be a lesson to my son to not to be complacent about his studies but moreso to us - his parents. Not because he was a gifted child, he can beat all the odds. There should be an equal respect to responsibilities and as well as adherence to norms - which I know we often forgot - intentionally only because we depend so much on him that even without studying he can still score.
Indeed, first day high marked in our lives.
Just so sad. That's all.
